Shopify studio in Los Angeles

Shopify developer in Los Angeles

Shopify stores designed, built and fixed for brands around LA. You deal directly with the person running your project, in your own time zone, and you can stop by if you'd rather sit down and go through it together.

Run by Abra, a web design and development studio in Los Angeles.

What I help with

Most Shopify work falls into one of four buckets

Some brands need a whole new store. Most need something smaller and more specific. Either way, the first conversation is about what's slowing you down, not about a package.

New stores

A Shopify store designed around your products and your customers, set up so your team can run it without needing a developer for every change.

Redesigns

Your store works but looks like everyone else's theme, or it has been patched so many times nobody wants to touch it.

Moving to Shopify

Coming from WooCommerce, Squarespace, Wix or something custom. Products, customers, orders and old URLs come with you.

Custom features

Sections, product page logic, app integrations and the small fixes that apps on the store can't quite handle.

Why a local studio

Same time zone, same city

Plenty of good Shopify developers work remotely, and I work with clients all over too. But if your business is here, there are real advantages to a studio that's also here.

When something breaks at 4pm on a launch day, you're not waiting for someone on the other side of the world to wake up. When you want to walk through a new collection page, I can do it on a call that afternoon, or in person over coffee.

Why working local helps

Who you work with

  • Ronen Hirsch, a designer and developer who works on both sides of every project
  • A studio that does Shopify, WordPress and custom web apps
  • The team behind Abra Sections, a Built for Shopify app
  • Based in Los Angeles

How a project goes

Four steps, no surprises

  1. A short call

You tell me what's working, what isn't and what you want the store to do next. I tell you honestly if I'm the right fit.

  2. A written plan

Scope, price and the order things get done in. You know what you're paying for before anything starts.

  3. Design and build

You see the work as it comes together on a preview theme, so your live store keeps selling while the new one is built.

  4. Launch and after

The store goes live, test orders go through and the first days get watched closely. Ongoing help after that is there if you want it.

Quick answers

Before you get in touch

Do you only work with Los Angeles businesses?

No. I'm based in LA and like working with local brands, but I work with Shopify stores anywhere. Being local is an option, not a requirement.

Can you work on a store someone else built?

Yes, and it's a big part of the work. It starts with a look through the theme and apps, so it's clear what's there before quoting.

Do I need a new store or just some fixes?

Often just fixes. If a redesign isn't worth it for you, I'll say so. A focused set of changes can be the better spend.

Do you build custom Shopify sections?

Yes. Abra also makes Abra Sections, a Shopify app with ready-made sections, so a lot of time goes into Shopify themes.
